Cyril McKinney

Our in-house country expert Cyril has been with the station since 2012, but his presence has been felt on the local music scene since 1977. With a mobile disco roadshow Cyril has played pubs, clubs, weddings and other special occasions for all ages and musical genres. Over the years he has traveled through all six counties compering music shows and other public events.

Cyril presents two shows on FM105 - Irish Country (Sunday 10am-1pm) and American Country (Monday 6-8pm). These specialist shows take a dive into the best country music from close to home and across the pond - and if you happen to miss them, you can catch the repeats - Irish Country (Wednesday 9pm-midnight) and American Country (Thursday 6-8pm).

Cyril's love of all things country has taken him to the country musical capital of the world - Nashville, Tennessee - on many occasions. Here he has taken in the sights and sounds and even attended the Grand Ole Opry - the longest running live country radio show on WSM radio.

In his spare time Cyril is active in local voluntary work with young people with learning disabilities and directs the charity Helping Hands Romania - providing aid and support to those in need within Romania.
